Bryon Lee Widows has been a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) since 1996 and has been training members at Gymies Fitness Center since its inception more than three decades ago. His approach to fitness is grounded in experience, consistency, and a deep respect for long-term health and strength.

Bryon is a StrongFirst SFG-1 Certified Kettlebell Instructor and is actively working toward earning his StrongFirst SFL (StrongFirst Barbell Instructor) certification. Kettlebell and barbell training form the foundation of both his personal practice and his training philosophy, emphasizing strength, discipline, and efficient movement.

He has worked with a wide range of clients — from athletes seeking improved sports performance, to individuals focused on fat loss and overall conditioning, to older adults striving to maintain strength, independence, and quality of life.

At the heart of Bryon’s training style is a belief that strength is a lifelong pursuit. His personal passion is continuing to refine his own strength, discipline, and technical proficiency — particularly through kettlebell and barbell practice — and helping others do the same in a safe, sustainable, and empowering way.

Outside of the gym, Bryon enjoys continuing his education in strength training (with a special focus on kettlebells and barbells), maintaining his own disciplined practice, and spending time with the love of his life, Lori Jo Widows.

​I have been a member at Gymies since 2015 and have worked at Gymies as a member of staff off and on since 2019. You can find me at the gym with my daughter Evelyn at my hip. I help manage the day to day tasks in the Office. I am also excited about getting my health coach certification to further help and add values to our members in their personal fitness journey.

I enjoy doing yoga and going to the gym outside of my regular job. I have been active in extracurricular activities since a teenager.
I began yoga at 30 and loved the physical, mental and emotional benefits of it. I have been teaching yoga for 6 years this year.

I started doing aerobics in high school and fell in love with how good it made me feel and how fun it was. That passion led me to become a certified instructor by the time I was 18. I have over 30 years of experience teaching all platforms of fitness classes along with cheer and dance choreography through the years. I was a Purdue Golduster for 3 years, joined the Air Force for 4 years, came back to Indy and cheered for the Colts for 3 years. Now I am raising 2 teenage daughters as a single mom. I have been doing hair for 19 years, currently @ Cloud 9 Spa & Hair Design. Life is good!

I started exercising 30 years ago. I was divorced and needed something to be just for me. Started doing classes when the gym made a separate room for aerobics (too embarrassed to do in the main gym). I did at least one step class a day and sometimes 2!

I love helping others and my wish is that when you take a class you carry a feeling of accomplishment and joy out with you. Step challenges your body and your mind.
But no matter what form of exercise you choose, be consistent. Be present (put the phone down). Listen to your body. Move move move!
My favorite exercise is step but I’d love to have a Zumba class again. I enjoy reading, gardening, my dogs and my family and of course teaching step at Gymies!

My fitness journey really began when I joined Gymies. I had always exercised but not consistently. Now it has become a part of my everyday routine. I always feel so much better, both physically and mentally. As a certified yoga instructor, I have to say it is my favorite activity. I also enjoy walking, golf, and weight training.
